Front Line Training Program

Innerstart Training & Education, in association with InnerVisions Recovery Society, offers an 11 week, full-time Residential Front Line Worker Program, designed for candidates interested in working in Social Science and Health related facilities.

Objectives:
Successful students will possess the skills and have the competence necessary to successfully navigate their way into meaningful careers in the Social Services field, primarily achieving employment as Support Care Workers.

Regimen:
The training program is broken down into the following categories to provide candidates with a full spectrum of learning opportunities:

Classroom:
Theoretical concepts inherent in residential front line work are covered using our Training Manual and text book, The Satir Model.

Clinical:
This portion of the program immerses students into a real-life Residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centre environment; this is where the classroom moves to a hands-on atmosphere.

Admission Requirements:
Candidates must complete a Personal Statement and are required to attend an interview prior to acceptance to determine suitability. Candidates must be able to accommodate variable work hours and are expected to be curious, self-motivated, punctual and task-oriented. Candidates are expected to have volunteer experience in the social services field.

Those applying with previous substance abuse issues must presently live clean and sober lifestyles.

Program Start:
We operate on a continuous intake basis.

InnerStart and InnerVisions both enjoy distinctive and excellent working relationships in conjunction with a multitude of health service related agencies in the lower mainland, and our undertaking is to achieve a 100% placement rate for candidates who successfully complete the entire training program. To this end we will utilize our contacts to the utmost, and pledge to continue working with all students until they are gainfully employed.
